In order to understand the power of light in photography, I studied, planned and shot these city images in the early evening from when the sun began to set into the dark of the night. I love the warmth of the golden sun on the skin of my subject and the way it makes everything in the city glow. I also love the way neon lights reflect on the subject's skin and surfaces. To give the images a moody, serene feeling I shot on a rainy night. The rain was intermittent giving me an opportunity to play with reflection, capturing light on both the clear surface of windows and the umbrella, as well as, in the water pooling in the city streets. Images were shot with a 50mm lens, and I looked for opportunities to shoot close-up images, portraiture, as well as, cityscape images.
